IRS extends its free tax filing program

The Internal Revenue Service, or IRS, extends its free tax return program until 2029.

The agency has partnered with several tax preparation companies to offer a software free to taxpayers.

This year, nearly three million people used the program to file their returns.

That’s a 7.3 percent increase from last year.

Anyone with an adjusted gross income of $79,000 or less is eligible to use this service.
