The situation in Israel continues to deteriorate. As violence escalates in the country, the military responds to missile attacks from Syria.
According to their own statements, the Israeli military again attacked targets in Syria on Sunday night. Rockets had previously been fired from there in the direction of Israel. Two of them hit Israeli territory, another that of Israel occupy Golan Heights.
“The artillery is currently attacking the region in Syriafrom which rockets were fired into Israeli territory,” the Israeli army said early on Sunday morning. In addition, they hit a military site belonging to the Syrian army, as well as radar systems and artillery posts used by the army, the air force said.
Die Golan Heights are a strategically important rocky plateau that was occupied by Israel in the 1967 Six-Day War and annexed in 1981. The international community of states does not recognize the annexation to this day – according to international law, the areas are considered Syrian territory occupied by Israel. Former US President Donald Trump formally recognized the Golan Heights as Israeli territory in March 2019, thereby completing a U-turn in US foreign policy.
Attacks on Syria: Israel fears increasing Iranian influence
Israel has recently stepped up its airstrikes on targets in Syria, targeting in particular positions from pro-Iranian groups targeted. In this way, the Israeli government wants to prevent its arch-enemy Iran and militias allied with the mullahs’ regime, such as Hezbollah, from expanding their military influence in Syria. Along with Russia, Iran is the most important ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war.

Israel blamed the Islamist Palestinian organization Hamas for the attacks and then attacked bases of militant Palestinians in the neighboring country to the north and in Gaza Strip from the air. Violence in Israel: Soldiers should support the police
