Former Ukrainian MP Irina Farion murdered
The former Ukrainian MP Irina Farion died late last Friday from a gunshot to the head in an attack carried out in the western city of Lviv by an unidentified individual who is still on the run.
Farion, 60 years old and a linguist by profession, she served as a deputy from 2012 to 2024 for the ultra-nationalist Svoboda party and was particularly known for her inflammatory speeches against the Russian language.
The attack occurred around 7:30 p.m., when a man Between 20 and 25 years old, he approached the former deputy when she was walking down the street and shot the former MP. Farion was treated by emergency services and taken to hospital in critical condition, where she eventually succumbed.
