Mexico City.- The Federal Executive formalized the conclusion of the health emergency due to Covid-19 in our country, which had been in force since March 2020. 19, within the following 30 natural days.
The Secretariat of Health will be in charge of drawing up this plan, which will also have to incorporate the anti-covid vaccines into the National Vaccine Policy.
Through a decree published in the Diario Oficial de la Federación, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador declared that the “extraordinary action” had ended.
This action, adopted during the beginning of the pandemic, is aimed at preventing, controlling and mitigating the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The decree, announced at the morning conference by the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, enters into force this month.
Despite the decree, the public institutions of the National Health System must continue with the actions that are necessary for the prevention, control and mitigation of the disease.
“According to the faculties that are conferred in the health legislation and other applicable legal provisions; and in attachment to the long-term management plan for the control of Covid-19 that determines the Secretary of Health as coordinator of the referred System”, signal.
“The Secretary of Health must continue with the implementation of the National Vaccine Policy against the SARS-CoV-2 virus for the Prevention of COVID-19 in Mexico, within the scope of its competence”.
The authorizations issued by Cofepris in support of the original decree -of 2020- and subsequent acuerdos, will retain their validity.
This is due to the fact that the medicines and supplies subject to said authorizations are required to continue the vaccination policy and the long term plan.
Within a maximum period of 30 natural days, counting from this date, the General Health Council will convene the session.
The purpose is to guarantee the participation and follow-up of the National Health System of the actions carried out by public institutions according to the new management plan.
