Over the next few days, eight teams from Norway’s elite will compete for four semi-final places in Bergen, and the opportunity to capture the first prize of NOK 50,000.

Apeks will be a tough nut to crack

As early as 19:00 tonight, the match between Apeks Rebels and Center Gaming starts. The teams met most recently yesterday in the Telialigaen, and Center Gaming had to see themselves soundly beaten by the Rebels team. It will therefore be exciting to see whether Center Gaming has any aces up their sleeve during tonight’s match, and whether they manage to shock Apeks Rebels over three maps.

Patrik “Brave” Karlsen and Apeks Rebels have shown solid form so far in 2023.

At the same time as the match between Apeks and Center Gaming is being played, Wizard and VOID also meet. Wizard surprised all of Counter-Strike-Norway the last time they were in a playoff, and the team probably wants the opportunity to do the same again. Ole “Marcelious” Langan and Sander “Grus” Iversen have been loaned in for the occasion.

Wizard captain Daniel “zykes” Jensen is probably optimistic about his chances before the meeting with VOID. But despite the fact that VOID lost two of its best players to Metizport before this season, there are solid replacements in the form of Eskil “LaX” Bjørnsen and André “scared” Carrillo Simonsen who have excelled in the first two series rounds of the Telialigaen. There is thus an exciting showdown between two of the teams who are also fighting for a play-off place in the Telialigaen this spring.

Here is the overview of the times and dates of all the quarter falls:

777 with potential home ground advantage

In the last two quarter-finals, 777 take on Bitfix Gaming, while Static and Infurity battle it out for the final semi-final spot.

Both 777 and Bitfix are coming off strong victories in the Telialigaen, and are probably eager for more. It will be a great prestige for 777 to have the opportunity to lift the victory trophy on home ground in Bergen.

In the match between Infurity and Static, Infurity has a golden opportunity to be able to secure one of the four semi-final places. The team, which will probably fight with their backs against the wall in the Telialigaen this spring, has the chance to be able to secure an upturn against supposedly weaker opposition than they are used to in the Telialigaen’s top division.

Alex “PALM1” Palm could be important in 777’s quest for victory in the Bergen Games.

NOK 100,000 in the prize pool

The prize pool is solid in Norwegian eyes, and should motivate most of the quarter-final teams to dig extra deep in the tactics book. One hundred thousand kroner will be awarded to the four best teams and the distribution is set up as follows:

  1. NOK 50,000
  2. NOK 25,000
  3. NOK 12,500
  4. NOK 12,500

The final will be played at USF Verftet on Saturday 4 March with the public and will be streamed on 777 Esport’s Twitch channel.
