The actor Erdwin Fernandez Collado He announced that he is saying goodbye to the Cuba issue on his social networks, and from now on he will spend all his time on his life and his family.
Erdwin, who has resided in Miami since 2022made that determination on Thursday after the death of his father-in-law at the age of 90, an event that moved him and made him remember other relatives who have died around him, such as his parents and grandparents.
“We care a lot about the Cuba issue and we don’t realize the amount of energy and attention we dedicate to many bad people, hp, when they dedicate neither attention nor energy to us,” he said in his profile. Facebook.
“Time passes us by and sometimes we don’t use that energy on our loved ones, and the most important thing is our family, the primary thing, the only thing, those who are by our side in the good times and the bad,” he stressed.
The artist recalled that his father-in-law worked very hard almost all of his life and died next to his daughter and him, far from the land where he was born.
Apparently, this has led him to think that he should dedicate his strength and thoughts to his family, although he knows and is pained by the situation of the Cubans on the Island.
“Cuba, I say goodbye to your sadness, your problems, your politics, I’m sorry. Too many deaths that matter and hurt, too many of my people, too much energy and time spent on the wind, space, on the uselessness of something too …”, he stressed.
“I love you, but it is time to be and worry about my loved ones, those who fight closely and very hard for one, to survive, far, far away from our homeland. Life is so beautiful and so simple, so familiar, and time is for them. I’m sorry,” he concluded.
Erdwin Fernández left for the United States after pressure and harassment to which the regime on the Island subjected him for his constant criticism to the government on social networks.
In the United States he continued publishing texts in which he demonstrated his concern about the crisis in his country.
A similar decision was made last November by the comedian Andy Vázquez, who announced that he was leaving Miami permanently and he distanced himself forever from politics, dedicating his pages solely to humor and concentrating only on his family and his work.
The comedian recalled that since he arrived in the United States four years ago, he was very involved in the issue of Cuba, criticizing the dictatorship and its crimes against the people.
For this work, he received many attacks and caused problems with families and businesses. Even his health suffered and he ended up suffering from pressure and sugar, because he woke up every day searching the Internet, sharing and reporting, and that caused him a lot of stress.
“Starting this month, I want to concentrate all my mind, my effort, my life, on my family, I am leaving Miami. In January, God willing, we are moving to Cape Coral. I am retiring from all this,” he stated then. .
“I have done what I could for the freedom of my Cuba, but it is not in my hands. I will continue to wish for it (freedom), but I am withdrawing completely. Four years have been enough,” he added.
