If the temperatures have been very mild in mainland France in recent days, in the United States, the situation is very different. An incredible winter storm affects a large majority of the states. Temperatures dropped to -48°C in places. The cold weather and heavy snowfall made it difficult for millions of Americans to get around. Thus, TF1 offered viewers a report summarizing the worrying situation on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. Videos showing the extent of the damage have been released, including that of a man opening the door of his car completely stuck in the ice. Images that should not have ended up on the air.

The day after the broadcast of this video, Jacques Legros wanted to make a point. “You know how much we at TF1 want to provide you with reliable information“, he declares before speaking about these images which posed a problem. “This image was from January 2022“, he rectifies. Embarrassed by the error made, he apologizes on behalf of the editorial staff. “We are of course sorry about that. We apologize for this.“, he continues.
