The actress Jada Pinkett-Smith posted an update on her battle with alopecia, revealing in a photo she shared on Instagram that her hair is trying to “make a comeback.”
“This hair looks like it’s trying to come back. I still have some trouble spots, but we’ll see.”is the text with which he accompanied the post,
In the publication you see two photos, in the first Pinkett Smith has a shaved head, while in the second she sports a blonde hairstyle.
The actress’s alopecia caught the attention of the whole world during the 2022 Oscars ceremony, when the presenter Chris Rock made a controversial joke about his baldness.
In the most commented and criticized moment of the gala, the comedian said that Pinkett Smith was ready to star in the second part of Lieutenant O’Neill thanks to her shaved look.
This comment prompted her husband, Will Smith, to storm onto the stage in a rage and slap the award show host, saying: “Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth”.
Pinkett had already revealed his diagnosis with the autoimmune disorder in 2018.
“I’ve been having issues with hair loss,” the actress said then on her own talk show, Red Table Talk.
“It was scary when it started. She was in the shower one day and she had just handfuls of hair in her hands and I was like, ‘oh my gosh, am I going bald?’ It was one of those moments in my life where he was literally shaking with fear.”he added.
In July 2021, Pinkett Smith debuted a new shaved to zero haircut, inspired by her daughter, which she showed off to the world on her social media:
“Everyone knows that I have been fighting alopecia. Look at this line here… it just appeared like this. And this is going to be a little harder to hide, so I thought I’d share it so you don’t ask questions.”confessed before his fans.
“Mom is going to have to shave up to the scalp so that no one thinks that they have operated on her brain or something like that… this alopecia and I are going to be friends… period,” she shared months later when her hair loss was more evident .
