Duality is part of being human. Black and white, side A or side B. Yes, also the history of La Grande Maison. Two stories, that of Jacques-David LeCoultre and Edmond Jaeger, converge in 1903 to start one of the most significant pairings in fine watchmaking and found Jaeger-LeCoultre. Many years later, in 1931, the Reverso watch would arrive with a face for the time and another to protect it from blows with just a turn of the case. Sure, this watch was originally created to withstand the intensity of the polo matches British officials played in India.

Thus, a simple idea combined with practicality revolutionized the aesthetics of watches of the time, which to this day and with its 91 years of experience echo in current pieces such as the new Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar which, as always, brings together all the Savoir Faire of the firm based in Le Sentier, Switzerland in two versions, one in steel and one in rose gold. Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmakers have incorporated subtle contemporary details into this new reinterpretation that incorporates two of the most outstanding complications of the Swiss manufacture.

On the one hand, triple calendar indications and on the other, the Duoface concept launched in 1994, which shows two time zones on their respective dials. All powered by the manually wound caliber 853, which stands out as one of the few calibres created entirely to fit the rectangular-type case that has always accompanied the Reverso. This movement in question offers a power reserve of 42 hours, as well as a water resistance of 30 meters.

It should be mentioned that throughout the 91 years of existence of the Reverso watch, it has offered a great variety of versions with around 50 different calibers. A novelty in these two pieces is the integration of interchangeable straps. If the Reverso was versatile, now it is even more so, each one of them has been finished by the expert hands of the artisans of Casa Fagliano, the renowned Argentine workshop specialized in manufacturing polo boots, which since 2011 has been a faithful ally of Jaeger-LeCoultre.

On the one hand, the blue calfskin strap was dedicated to the steel model, while the brown strap was dedicated to the rose gold Reverso. Both models are also delivered with a leather and fabric strap, in shades reminiscent of vintage equestrian equipment. The Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar is available in Mexico at the new Jaeger-LeCoultre boutique inside El Palacio de Hierro Polanco.
