Jaguar wants to reinvent itself with electric cars. The British car manufacturer had already announced in 2021 that it wanted to switch completely to purely electric vehicles in the coming years. Now the company wants ab 2025 one Luxury electric car range launch.
The first model of the family will feature a 4-door GT 700 kilometers Be range, so Jaguar in one press release. Its drive is to be the most powerful in the company’s history.
There are still no concept pictures of the sedan. Some details however, Jaguar has already disclosed. The electric car should about 110.000 Euro cost and on the new JEA Platform the manufacturer’s build up in the future another 2 luxury electric Jaguar models.
The GT should 2025 come onto the market, followed by the other two models with a gap of one year each.
Sister brand also has new e-cars
Jaguar’s sister brands will also rely on electric cars in the future: An electric version of Range Rover start. For 2025 a medium-sized Range Rover SUV with an electric drive is then planned.
Overall, the company wants in the next 5 years around 17 billion euros spend to electrify its Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover brands. In addition to the technical conversion, the expenditure should also flow into the retraining of the workforce and the development of autonomous, artificial and digital technologies, according to the group.
