A man that He was found dead on Tuesday inside a garbage tank, in southwest Miami-Dade, was wanted by authorities on a charge of attempted murder. The police believe that He committed suicide by shooting himself inside the waste container.
The individual – who would have turned 55 this Christmas – has been identified as Armando Benavidesa Hispanic whose nationality of origin has not been revealed.
The man was being sought after his ex-wife shot him in the leg in the house they both shared with their two sons, ages 17 and 23, who witnessed the shooting. After the incident, Benavides’ ex-wife was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After shooting his ex-partner – from whom he had been divorced for years – the man would have moved to the neighborhood of West Kendallwhere he chose to take his life inside a trash container located at 8400 Southwest and 161st Place.
However, Some residents of the community in southwest Miami-Dade where the strange event occurred are shocked and have doubts.
Hernando Orjuela and other neighbors such as Stella Brigante and Christian Díaz – interviewed by the local press– have expressed disbelief and questioned the circumstances surrounding the officially declared conclusion of a suicide.
Question points arise from the observation of traces of blood near the containerwhich raises questions about his relationship to the tragedy.
However, the spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police Department, Álvaro Zabaleta, has reported that – according to the official version – it would be a suicide.
