As Amazon itself announced in a press release, the show is inspired by the “James Bond” universe. In “007’s Road to a Million” the participants compete in teams of two. The goal is that Prize money in the form of one million pounds to win. According to Amazon’s press release, it is probably a combination of quizzes and physical challenges. “007’s Road to a Million” will be shot in iconic locations from the “James Bond” films, including Jamaica, Venice and the Scottish Highlands.
The linchpin of the game show seems to be the so-called “controller” played by Scottish Golden Globe winner Brian Cox (“Troy”, “Succession”). Describing the character from Amazon itself, “‘The Controller’ is villainous and sophisticated, delighting in the increasingly difficult tasks and questions that contestants must solve. Millions of pounds are at his fingertips – up to a million pounds a pair – but he doesn’t make it easy for them. While he lurks in secret, he watches and controls everything.”
When exactly “007’s Road to a Million” will appear on Amazon Prime Video is still unknown. The only thing that is clear is that the show later this year The streaming service is to be launched and will be available in more than 240 countries.
