Satire star Colbert had heralded him as “His Royal Harryness” and had two uniformed fanfare players honk in the opening clip. Harry played along, teasing tradition and his grandmother’s heritage.
“Woah, stop it! Stephen, not necessary, but thank you, I appreciate it,” he reacted humble in the clip. Just to be cleared up that the (in)flated honors were for studio guest Tom Hanks (66). Colbert to Harry: “Out of the way, he’s coming!”
The king’s son made himself and his origins a laughing stock, chatted about the Netflix royal house soap “The Crown” (“I actually watched it!”) and seemed to completely forget that his “ridiculous” prince status made him a celebrity in the first place power.
Colbert sneered, “Stock up on corgis and steal a priceless cultural treasure from one of your colonies, because the ‘Late Show’ is going imperial!” And Harry downed it all – even shots of tequila in a nod to his earlier drinking antics.
