The objective has been met. ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ has become a profitable movie, so more sequels about the Na’vi on Pandora can already be thought of.

James Cameron’s film has already exceeded 1.5 billion dollars at the box office, becoming the best release of 2022 and entering the top of the highest-grossing films in history.

Weeks before the release of the film, the director had warned that his story has a very high risk given the large budget it has and that the box office results had to be reflected to continue with the sequels.

Now, less than a month after its launch, the director himself has already confirmed that the profitability of this new installment will ensure the completion of at least the 3rd and 4th part of the story.

‘Avatar’ reached “profitable equilibrium”

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporterthe manager said:

“It looks like just with the momentum the movie has now that it will easily pass our breakeven point in the next few days, so it looks like I can’t get out of this, I’m going to have to do these other sequels. I know what I am going to do in the next six or seven years. The point is that we’re going to be fine. I’m sure we’ll have a discussion with the top folks at Disney soon about the game plan for Avatar 3, which is already in the can – we’ve already captured and photographed the entire movie, so we’re in extended post-production to do all that magic. GC. And then Avatars 4 and 5 are written. We even have some 4’s in the can. We have started a franchise at this point. We have started a saga that can now be developed into multiple films.”
