The actress Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated his first nomination at the 95th edition of the Oscars that will take place on March 12, and there he will look for his statuette at the Best Supporting Actress for his work on the film “Everything Everywhere at the same time.”

Recognized for an outstanding career in the film industry, Jamie made her franchise debut in “Halloween” of john carpenter in 1978, and reaped a path of recognized screen titles such as “A Crazy Friday” (2003, together with Lindsay Lohan) and “Between Knives and Secrets” (2019, which also won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay), as one of its most recent releases (to name just a few).

“It wasn’t even in my wildest dream box. I’ve always felt very much like an outsider looking inward and yet always so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had. To be a part of this beautiful film, which just received so many accolades by our talented team of artists, it’s the highlight of my professional life,” said the actress who connected the film to her own family’s story.

“Since this is a film about an immigrant family and their struggles through life, I immediately think of my parents, sons of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams. I can only imagine what it would feel like for them and their parents to hear that their daughter/granddaughter was nominated for an Oscar this morning.. I am stunned, honored and excited for our little film that was able to be in the nominations today and continues to do and do,” she said.

This morning, when the awards were being announced, Jamie got the news from her friend, the producer, Debbie Oppenheimerwho won an Oscar for his documentary “Into the Arms of Strangers: Stories of the Kindertransport” -where he develops the story of his mother- and accompanied her to witness the revelation of the shortlists.

“She came in (into her house) and sat with me like I had sat with her the day she was on her way to the Oscars, the year she won. We held hands. I didn’t even realize that she took photos,” said the actress, who published a series of postcards showing her surprised reaction.
