Mexico City.- Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, will visit Mexico with an independent agenda. Unlike her husband, she will not land at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), but at the Central Airport of Mexico City.

The US Embassy indicated that the wife of President Joe Biden will be in Mexico from January 8 to 10.

“The First Lady looks forward to representing the United States, along with President Joe Biden, at the 2023 North American Leaders Summit (CLAN) in Mexico. In addition to being part of the Summit agenda along with the President , the First Lady will have an independent agenda,” he said.

The arrival of the official tomorrow Sunday in Mexico is scheduled at 4:30 p.m., time in the country’s capital.

“The First Lady will arrive at the Benito Juárez International Airport of Mexico City,” he said.

Later, at 5:30 p.m., Jill Biden will make a local visit to Mexico City.

“This trip highlights President Biden’s commitment to strengthening ties between the United States, Mexico and Canada, and promoting our shared priorities for the region,” the Embassy said.

“The First Lady’s agenda will focus on our shared cultural ties and the empowerment of women and girls,” she added.

Female empowerment, one of the themes

On the agenda of the First Lady of the United States, it is contemplated to promote issues such as female empowerment.

On Monday, January 9, at 11:30 a.m., she will hold a dialogue on women’s empowerment, “to continue her global work in support of women and girls.”

That day, at hours, he will accompany Mexican students in an NFL Tochito match at a school in Mexico City.

Tochito NFL is the flagship program of the National American Football League for children and youth in Mexico, and promotes gender equality and the empowerment of girls, the Embassy specified.

Later, at 5:00 p.m., he will join Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, wife of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, at the Fandango for Reading at the National Palace in Mexico City.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, January 10, the First Lady will participate in a trilateral lunch with Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.

Finally, his agenda will culminate that day with his participation in a tour of the Templo Mayor together with Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.
