John Travolta paid tribute to his playing partner Olivia Newton-John, who died of cancer last summer, by covering the hit in a Super Bowl ad Summer Nights from the movie grease.

Accompanied by the star duo of the sitcom Scrubs Zach Braff and Donald Faison, the 68-year-old comedian praises the merits of the mobile operator T-Mobile by singing the air of his famous duet with Olivia Newton-John.

A video that went viral

Travolta wears an outfit similar to Danny Zuko’s in grease. This commercial was designed to air during the Super Bowl, the high mass of American football and the most watched event on American television.

The video, widely relayed in the United States, already has 3.6 million views on YouTube. The commercial concludes with a reference to another cult John Travolta film, Saturday night feverof which he reproduces one of the choreographies.

45 years after its release, the film grease remains a reference. The Paramount+ streaming platform will broadcast from April 6 Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladiesa prequel in series form.
