We have known since February that FX intends to continue the series Fargo with a fifth season set in 2019 whose pitch is as follows: “When isn’t a kidnapping? What if your wife wasn’t your wife?”

This intriguing concept is still developed by Noah Hawley, and carried this time by Jon Hamm (madmen), Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Jennifer Jason Leigh (Atypical). They will respectively embody characters named Roy, Dot and Lorraine, which the channel is unveiling today in images, accompanied by other characters… FX also announces the launch of the program for November 21, 2023.

This return to television in a series as popular as Fargo is a nice move for Jon Hamm, who is world famous for playing Don Draper, the hero of the series madmenfrom 2007 to 2015 for AMC.

Series Fargo has enjoyed great critical success since its creation in 2014, freely inspired by the eponymous film by the Coen brothers released in 1996. Each season tells a new story, taking place in different periods of American history.

The first followed Martin Freeman in 2006, in the skin of a man without stature crossing the path of a hired killer (Billy Bob Thornton). The second was set in 1979 in Sioux Fall and focused on a couple (Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons) trying to cover up the accidental death of a young man. In the third, the lives of two opposite twins (played by Ewan McGregor) change dramatically following an unfortunate encounter. Finally the fourth took place in the 1950s, in Kansas City, with Chris Rock, Jessie Buckley and Jason Schwartzman, and evoked the crossed destiny of two mafia families deciding to exchange their eldest sons to maintain peace between them.
