The Colo Colo footballer accepted the demands to conditionally suspend the procedure, which will be paused in a set time of one year.
Jordhy Thompson was separated from the Colo Colo squad due to the well-known acts of violence against his ex-partner. The soccer player returned to Casa Alba to start with their respective treatments and pertinent care, considering that his sports reintegration, previously, was on the recommendation of the same specialists.
However, the athlete had to appear this Tuesday at the trial against him for the complaints by his ex-partner in gender violence. The midfielder accepted an alternative exitwhere the Public Ministry proposed to the player to temporarily suspend the case.
Jordhy Thompson accepts alternate exit
This alternative exit that the Colo Colo footballer accepted leads him to comply with certain measures. This is how Jordhy Thompson will have to establish an address and notify the court in the event of any future change of address. Along the same lines, moreover, the steering wheel was left with a restraining order and a ban on approaching the victim Camila Sepúlveda and Isidora García, who also appears as a victimizer.
But that’s not all, because there is a ban on Thompson from contacting in any way possible with both victims and thus undergo evaluations and therapies for impulsive control, through treatments against behaviors of gender violence towards women.
Finally, the albo player must pay his ex-partner a figure close to two million pesos to compensate for the destruction of the victim’s technological devicesall generated in the midst of the incidents of aggression, which must be canceled within a period of 15 days.
What is the alternative exit?
The conditional suspension of the procedure is one of the many alternative solutions that exist. In the term of these it can be up to two years, but in this case, it was set at only one year and it will be paused while waiting for the demands that were given to the accused, in this case, to Jordhy Thompson, to be met.
If, within a year, the Colo Colo player complies with these requirements, the case is dismissed, which means that it puts a complete end to the process for legal reasons that prevent its continuity and subsequent opening regarding the same facts.
In the event that Thompson, during this year, does not meet the requirements, the case will resume with the normal course of a trial.
