We invoke Pope Francis, the call for the cessation of violence in Peru, “published the Twitter account representing Pedro Castillo’s campaign.

And the Argentine social leader reposted it with this text: “The message was forwarded to the Prefect Card. Michael Czerny. Beyond subjective considerations, the murder of peasants, indigenous people, and young people, the tanks in universities, and the humiliation of the former president are issues that concern the elementary rights of individuals and peoples.”

“# Let’s pray together so that the acts of violence in Peru stop. I encourage all the parties involved to embark on the path of dialogue between brothers of the same nation, in full respect for human rights and the rule of law,” reads the tweet which Francis launched.

This Sunday, Protests against President Dina Boluarte, calling for her resignation, continued in Peru. The C5N envoy took testimony from the protesters.
