A federal judge decreed 60 days of provisional detention for the purpose of extradition to Ovidio Guzmán, the deadline for the US to submit a formal request

Mexico City.- A federal judge decreed for 60 days the provisional detention for the purpose of extradition of Ovidio Guzmán López “El Ratón”, a term for the United States to present the formal request and the file with which it intends to try him for a drug trafficking charge.

Gregorio Salazar Hernández, control judge of the Federal Criminal Justice Center of Almoloya de Juárez, based in the Altiplano Prison, established that if the United States Embassy does not formalize its extradition request before March 5, it will order the release of the son of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.
