In the future, cross-club thinking in junior ice hockey will be necessary in order to further promote and develop talent in the region.

There are only a few kilometers between the ice surfaces in Dornbirn, Hohenems, Lustenau and Widnau (CH). In order to be able to keep the level of training high and the travel distances short, the ice hockey clubs implemented the “Rheintal Future” project.

The ice hockey clubs in the Rhine Valley will work together even more closely than before. The clubs EC Dornbirn, EHC Lustenau, SC Hohenems and SC Rheintal have launched the “Rheintal Future” project in order to improve the level of training in regional ice hockey, to pool the strengths in the respective age groups and at the same time to minimize the travel distances of the parents .

The cooperation of the four clubs should enable the young players to receive the best possible training within just a few kilometers with enough cracks. The detailed planning of the individual age groups is currently in full swing. It is already certain that in the 2023/24 season there will be a U20 team with its own training and match operations.

Although the four clubs will appear as one team in the different age groups in the future, the players still belong to their parent club and also wear their logo on their jerseys as a symbol. The clubs are convinced that this project is the right way forward and look forward to intensifying the cooperation.
