Bills for a “more efficient” justice aim in particular to increase the budget of the Ministry of Justice and to hire magistrates, clerks and other personnel.

The Senate with a right-wing majority will first examine, from June 6, two bills by Minister of Justice Eric Dupond-Moretti for “more efficient” justice, according to the agenda set Tuesday at the conference of presidents.

The “orientation and programming bill” and the “organic bill relating to the opening, modernization and responsibility of the judiciary” will be the subject of solemn votes on June 13, before going to The national assembly.

The first text aims to increase the budget of the Ministry of Justice from 9.6 billion euros in 2023 to nearly 11 billion within four years. It also endorses the hiring of 10,000 people, including 1,500 magistrates and 1,500 clerks, by 2027.

Green industry, military programming…

The Senate will also have the scoop, from June 20, of the green industry bill, another of the government’s priority texts in an attempt to relaunch the five-year term after the crisis around pension reform. From June 27, the senators will examine in first reading, after the deputies, the draft military programming for the years 2024 to 2030.

On the evening of June 6, a government statement on France’s foreign policy in Africa will be followed by a debate, pursuant to article 50-1 of the Constitution.
