A supermodel and a supercat. Two superstars celebrating the great Karl Lagerfeld († 85) in the May issue of “Vogue”.

Before Lagerfeld’s beloved and famous Cat Choupette (11, even has own Instagram account) is expected as a star guest at the famous Met Gala in New York on May 1st, she was a scent for the photo shoot Supermodel Naomi Campbell (52).

No joke, the cute kitty has been officially invited to the Met Gala. Because her famous “dad”, who died in 2019, should be celebrated there. The theme of this year’s fashion spectacle: “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”.

But before that happens, Choupette has her big appearance in a new cover story in Vogue. She was snapped by star photographer Annie Leibovitz (73) in the arms of Naomi Campbell on a Parisian bridge – and she’s doing great as a model.

Ten designers were asked to create looks inspired by Karl Lagerfeld. Among them Olivier Rousteing (37), chief designer of the Parisian fashion house Balmain.

Naomi Campbell wears a black Balmain pantsuit, white shirt and a cloth tie of sorts in her Lagerfeld tribute. Burmese cat Choupette gets to cuddle up comfortably on her arm as a great eye-catcher and part of the Lagerfeld legacy.

“A life like Karl’s – glorious, restless, always in the public eye, and full of intriguing twists and turns – needs to be celebrated,” writes Fashion boss Anna Wintour (73) in “Vogue”.

Over the photos appearing in the May issue honoring German fashion designer Lagerfeld, Wintour enthuses: “They have a cinematic size, but also an intimacy that just touches me. Because it is models and designers (and a very famous cat) who knew Karl.”

Vogue asked ten designers to take inspiration from Lagerfeld's visionary work and reinterpret it. Ten models that Lagerfeld loved the most show what happened. Among them: Kendall Jenner (middle row, right), Naomi Campbell (middle row, 2nd from right) and Gigi Hadid (top right)
