After three Ketterä victories, Esbolaget gets to celebrate gold in the Mestis league for the first time. The exciting match led to extra time, where the winning goal came after just under two minutes.

It was Kiekko-Espoo who had to lift the Mestis trophy this year. After five games, the score was 3–2 in Kiekko’s favour. Today they had the chance to take home the victory, which they did.

Tactical success

As the third period drew to a close, it was leaning towards a seventh game as Ketterä led 3–2. But in the final minutes, Kiekko-Espoo took out the goalkeeper and played with one more man, which turned out to be a winning concept. With only 54 seconds left in the third period, Janne Hämäläinen scored the tying goal at 3-3 and the teams had to get ready for overtime.

In extra time, Anton Ollikainen scored the winning goal after barely two minutes played.

Esbolaget thus won the final series with a score of 4–2.
