Despite a few whistles, the Head of State had descended on the lawn to greet the players of the final of the Coupe de France football, in 2022. This year, an inter-union poster calls for him to be sent a red card. Since the morning of Friday April 28, the CGT has been demonstrating at the foot of the Stade de France (Seine-Saint-Denis) and demanding all-out actions to fight against pension reform.
High security measures
In the evening, the police headquarters banned union gatherings near the stadium. The decision was appealed. The CGT claimed responsibility for the power cut during a rugby match the day before. An action castigated by Olivier Véran, government spokesperson. At the Stade de France, 3,000 police and gendarmes were requisitioned, twice as many as usual. Players and coaches try to ignore the climate to focus on the sport. Extremely rare, a barrier will be installed between the spectators and the lawn. Emmanuel Macron will attend the match well, but will he go down? The question is not yet settled.
