In March, reality star Kim Kardashian (42) and rapper Kanye West (45) were officially divorced after seven years of marriage.
At the end of November, the divorce settlement was finalized. Where it became known that West must pay two million kroner in child support every month.
Now Kardashian is speaking out for the first time since the settlement became known.
In an interview with Angie Martinez on the “IRL” podcast, Kardashian describes how she does her best to cooperate with West about their four young children.
– It is difficult. Really difficult, says the 42-year-old.
Kardashian then recalls her late father, Robert Kardashian, who passed away in 2003.
– I had the best dad, and I had the best memories and the best experience, and that’s all I want for my children, she says, clearly impressed.
Limits children’s access to media
In a live broadcast with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones earlier in December, the rapper declared that he loves Nazis and admires Adolf Hitler.
Kardashian does not specifically address this incident in the podcast, but says that she protects their children as best she can from the media coverage surrounding their father.
Among other things, she says she’s confident her children aren’t aware of West’s recent behavior because she limits their access to television and social media, and talks to their teachers.
– If they don’t know what’s being said or what’s going on in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them? It is really heavy adult talk that they are not ready to handle, says the reality star in the podcast.
She adds that she protects West in “the eyes of my children, for my children.”
– One day my children will thank me for not sitting here and talking crap about him when I can. They will thank me, and I will answer them privately to any questions they may have.
Dissociated from the ex-husband’s attitudes
West’s statement earlier in December is not the first time he has spoken about Hitler and made anti-Semitic statements. Also in October, he made a series of shocking, anti-Semitic messages on social media, which led to him being banned from several platforms.
A few weeks later, Kardashian took to Twitter to distance herself from her ex-husband’s attitudes.
Hate speech is never OK or excusable. I stand together with the Jewish community and call on the terrible violence and hateful rhetoric towards them to come to an immediate end.
