The state Fortifications Agency owns the property that was ravaged by fire, and Norrbotten Regiment I 19 are tenants. The property was undergoing renovation and the office staff had been moved to other premises at the regiment.

Historic room burned up

The building contains, among other things, the so-called Karl XII room with old dining room furniture and ceiling paintings.

– The room is called the Carolinian room or Charles the XII room and is part of the exhibition floor that was on the third floor. It’s a special room with a very special ceiling and it’s completely burnt out. Very boring, says Nils Johansson.

In the video, the regiment commander talks about the possibilities to restore the property and how the staff is affected.
