Mikkel Kirkeskov and Holstein Kiel will go their separate ways at the end of the season. As the second division announced, the left-back will leave the Storks for a free transfer. The 31-year-old says on his farewell: “I had a really great time here in Kiel. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me here in and around the club and wish everyone the best for the future.”

Kiel’s Managing Director Sport Uwe Stöver says goodbye to the Dane: “We have gotten to know Mikkel Kirkeskov over the past two and a half seasons as an exemplary person and athlete who has always put himself at the service of the team and performed well. We thank him very much for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future.” Kirkeskov joined the Kielers in January 2021 and has been on the pitch 46 times for the club so far.
