Boredom should not arise this year in Kitzingen and its city and district parts. A number of festivals and concerts are planned, as well as a few special anniversaries. As the city of Kitzingen announces, from mid-April to the end of October there is hardly a weekend without a highlight.

The Kitzinger Spring kicks off the year of events on April 16th with lots of attractions for young and old and a shopping Sunday. The tourism season is officially opened on the same day. Guided tours have been offered since the beginning of April. The Stadtschoppen starts its seventh season at the end of April. Every weekend until mid-October, different winegrowers from Kitzingen and all of Franconia present their products on the city balcony. The popular meeting place starts every Thursday on the banks of the Main in Einem, almost every Sunday you can enjoy a pint with live music – either in the evening or during the musical morning pint, organized by the Förderverein Gartenschaugelände eV

Three stars of the national music scene are also making guest appearances on the Stadtbalcony this summer. Jan Delay, Michael Patrick Kelly and Wincent Weiss transform the area into an acclaimed concert venue in June. “June has an exceptional amount to offer this year,” reports Frank Gimperlein, Managing Director of the City Marketing Association. From June 4th to 6th, the city festival with Sunday shopping is on the program, at the end of June the revised Promenadenweinfest takes place on the other side of the Main. The organizers promise more quality in music, decoration, light and other offers. The event area will be a little larger, the Bockstüten cellar will be included, and a new competition format will be used to search for “the best part of the city”.

In addition to these popular events, the municipal cultural institutions also invite you to many alternative concerts, lectures or readings. The music school will again be present with a variety of concerts on the city balcony, vhs and the old synagogue educational center are planning lectures and concerts, and the city library invites you to public readings. There are also popular events by clubs such as the TGK, which is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, or the Förderverein Gartenschaugelände eV, which organizes morning pints with live music, for example. In the district of Hoheim, preparations are underway for a 75th anniversary celebration. This year, the Friends of the Twin Cities invited friends from Prades, Montevarchi and Trebnitz.

It will be sporty at the Mainfrankentriathlon on August 5th, cultural at the PAM special exhibition from July 21st to August 27th. The theme this year is “Good wishes – New Year’s graphics from Taiwan and Franconia”. The neighborhood festival, which is celebrated on July 1st this year, is traditionally intercultural. There is a bit of a breather for all party people during the summer holidays before the next round starts again at the beginning of September. There are plenty of reasons to celebrate at the church consecration in the towns and districts, even in autumn. “This year nobody needs to come and say that nothing is going on in Kitzingen,” says Frank Gimperlein with a grin.
