Los Angeles (USA), May 5 (EFE).- La Banda MS, by Sergio Lizárraga, and the Los Angeles rapper Ice Cube released this Friday the single “Cuáles Fronteras?”, a collaboration in which they have united genres to address the issue of border barriers.

In a statement, the band has said that the song is a “hymn to unity and solidarity” and invites listeners to reflect on immigration and the barriers that stand between people.

The lyrics were written by the group’s main songwriter, Omar Robles, and Ice Cube, who is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with more than 10 million albums sold.

The video for the song, shot in an American desert and near the US-Mexico border wall, was also released on Friday.

This is not the first time that the Mexican group has collaborated with other Los Angeles artists, in 2020 they presented their hit “Que Maldición” with rapper Snoop Dog and Becky G.

To this is added his participation in the famous Call of Duty video game franchise, when interpreting the song “141”. The song is part of the soundtrack of the game “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II”, which was released last October.

The MS Band is touring the US with more than 30 presentations to celebrate its twenty years of work. In June they appear in Los Angeles, where they have two dates planned.

In September it will be presented in New York and on September 15 they will be in Las Vegas to celebrate the Cry for Mexican Independence.

The band was recognized by the Spotify platform as the most listened to Mexican artist.

The group achieved 872 million views in 2020 on the platform. To date, it maintains an average of 14 million monthly reproductions, one million less than the monthly reproductions (15 million) that Ice Cube maintains.
