An avalanche in Lech injured three skiers, two of them seriously.

A 33-year-old ski guide from Lech was traveling with a ten-person ski group in the open ski area in the direction of the Juppenspitze. When crossing a slope, a slab avalanche broke loose in the 30 to 35 degree steep terrain, which swept away ten of the eleven skiers.

Not spilled

Three skiers were able to get out of the avalanche independently. The remaining skiers, some of whom were equipped with ABS backpacks, were not buried due to the small amount of snow. They drove down into the valley independently.

Three skiers were injured in the incident, two of them seriously. There was a significant avalanche danger.
