Leeds United have bagged their first winter transfer. As the club coached by Jesse Marsch announces on its website, Maximilian Wöber is signing at Elland Road. The central defender is moving from RB Salzburg to Leeds and has signed a contract until 2027. The club has not given any information about the fee, the last figure was EUR 12 million. Wöber was already training in Salzburg under Marsch, now the reunification follows.

For the 24-year-old Austrian it is the next chance to establish himself in a top league. The central defender played for Ajax Amsterdam from 2017 to 2019, but did not find lasting happiness there. An engagement at FC Sevilla also ended as a misunderstanding. Now Wöber dares the next attempt in Leeds.
