According to the artist, the song, released under his record label, Torres Productions, “is impregnated with the characteristic rhythms and sounds of our beloved Cuba. With this song, I want to express my pride and love for our land”.

In addition to the allusions to his country and its traditions in the song’s images and lyrics, Leoni mentions his native San Cruz del Sur and proudly celebrates being from Camagüey.

Here we share the lyrics and video of this song that conveys Cubanness:

“Cuban”

Came the voice of love.

The sun of my old Havana.

The sound of the drum.

I am Cuban music.

I come from a beautiful island,

with a sincere heart.

I represent my flag

with guayabera and hat.

Ya no gozo guayabero.

Celia Cruz, Benny Moré,

Willy, they’re coming.

How beautifully you sing.

I am Havana tobacco and the aroma of coffee.

I come from the poverty of the most humble people.

I represent the beauty of the pearl of the Caribbean.

I am an angel who writes music with feeling.

And although I don’t live in my land, I am one hundred percent Cuban.

Crying of love and lament, the land where I was born.

And if they ask about me, I have the same feeling.

I would like to be a bridge from one shore to the other shore,

so that all of Cuba can come

and the one who never forgets returns.

Cuba is me.

I am Cuban.

I am Cuban

From Santa Cruz del Sur!

Camagüeyan.
