Career of Abdelkarim
Abdelkarim was born in Bielefeld. His family’s roots are in Morocco, where Abdelkarim often spent his summer holidays.
At school, the talented cabaret artist was already considered the class clown. Before his success in comedy, Abdelkarim studied German, Islamic studies and law.
The breakthrough came in 2007. His first comedy appearances were about his school experiences and youth, but also about growing up in Bielefeld with a migration background. From 2014 his solo program “Between Ghetto and Germans” was also available on CD. By the end of 2016, Abdelkarim was on tour through Germany. In 2017 came the second solo program: “State Friend No. 1”.

In 2018 Abdelkarim won the German TV Award in the category “Best Information”. And in 2020 came the accolade: A “Golden Camera” as Best Newcomer.
Since 2021, Abdelkarim has been heard weekly in his podcast “nich nich nich.”, which he runs with Lutz Birkner (author). His new program “We calm down” came out in the same year.
In 2021 Abdelkarim was able to book further moderation projects: On the sports channel DAZN he moderates the football show “Tippitaka”, his own program “Team Abdel” on WDR.
