Thanks to their clear victory (3-0) on Saturday evening against Monaco, the Lensois temporarily regain second place in the championship from OM, who play Sunday evening in Lyon.
Inspired offensively, with Loïs Openda once again decisive, RC Lens showed their best face against Monaco, top opponents, on Saturday April 22, during the 32nd day of Ligue 1. The Lensois won 3-0 at home against a Monegasque team lacking ideas and overwhelmed with envy. Openda scored twice (8th and 15th), bringing its total achievements to 17 this season, and Adrien Thomasson widened the gap (55th).
With this victory, Lens temporarily overtakes Marseille in the standings and takes the place of runner-up to PSG, before the OM match on Sunday evening in Lyon. The Monegasques lose the opportunity to return to qualifying places for the Champions League, and remain fourth.
