Inaugurated in 2008, Casa Alba is a space for the future stars of Colo Colo to develop in an integral way while they take their first steps in the Eternal Champion. Built mainly for all those who come from different regions, the building provides lodging, meals, a computer room, recreation and endless facilities so that young people are in the best possible way.

There are several officials who work in this place and many others who take the next cracks to this venue. One of them is Lizardo Garrido. El Chano, linked a lifetime to Colo Colo, continued working at the Monumental Stadium after his retirement, dedicating himself to various functions, including, the recruitment of players in the different soccer schools throughout the country.

Alba Lizardo Garrido House?

Due to the above, the relationship that the former defender has with Casa Alba is unique. For the same reason, and especially after finding out about his illness, different voices began to sound with the urgency of paying tribute and recognition in life to the champion of America in 1991. Thus, in the program “The DaleAlbo Preview with Valladares”, he was asked about this possibility, leaving the former footballer on the verge of tears.

Would be wonderful. First time hearing something like this, I had no idea.. I am not the one who has to run for office, it never crossed my mind and we have never discussed it that Casa Alba bears the name of someone in particular. What we were clear about is that the doctors’ room bear the name of Doctor Reyes. The floor moved again”, affirmed an emotional Chano Garrido.

The most winner in the history of Colo Colo

The figure of the former national team deserves to be praised. In the history of Colo Colo, there are many players who have worn the Alba shirt and few have done so like Lizardo Garrido. In fact, the native of Santiago holds the mark of being the one with the most presences: 560 official matches between 1979 and 1993. In addition, it is the one with the most matches played in the Copa Libertadores with 67 commitments.

But the legend of Garrido does not stop there. Although it is Luis Mena who has won the most First Division titles with the Cacique (11), It is our beloved Chano who has won the most trophies in the history of Popular along with Marcelo Ramírez with 15 trophies each.
