During the long weekend that goes from Friday, April 28 to Monday, May 1, they will travel almost 500 thousand passengers to different parts of the country in the three modes of transport: long-distance trains, planes and buses.

According to data from the Ministry of Transportation and based on the confirmed operations of the Argentina 2000 Airport, 81% occupancy is projected on 600 flights per day, and an estimated 300,000 people will travel on domestic flights.

Aerolíneas Argentinas indicated that the most chosen destinations are: Cordoba, Iguazu, Mendoza, Bariloche, Salta, El Calafate, Ushuaia, Tucuman and Neuquen.

As for the buses, 170,000 long-distance tickets were sold to and from the Retiro Station. In addition, 20,000 tourists chose long-distance trains as an option for this long weekend.

Argentine Trains Operations pointed out that the main destinations chosen are: Mar del Plata, Rosario, Junín, Córdoba and Tucumán.

The Minister of Transportation of the Nation, Diego Giuliano, expressed: “The growth of tourism brings with it a federal development of the economy. They are cities from all over Argentina that receive visitors who stay in hotels, who eat in restaurants, who buy in their fairs and who visit their attractions, bringing more opportunities and growth for their regional economies”.
