There’s a lot going on at the moment when it comes to Lord of the Rings video games. And quite soon, as the Embracer Group has revealed.

In the 2023/2024 financial year, i.e. by the end of March 2024, a total of five Lord of the Rings games are to be launched.

What’s in the pipeline?

One of these five projects is likely to be Daedalic’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, in which Embracer will also get its share.

Nothing is currently known about the other projects. Embracer acquired the rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit – not including the films – last year.

More on the subject:

According to the company, however, the acquisition of Middle-Earth Enterprises has “awakened great interest in the Lord of the Rings IP from both internal and external partners, across various media formats”.

So for now, we can only guess what Lord of the Rings games are in development aside from Gollum. What would you wish for?
