CDMX.- Lucía Méndez has had many experiences throughout her 50-year career and has known success in soap operas, movies and music, but what she does not allow in her life is violence.

For this reason, the actress and singer explained, she filed a restraining order against those who try to damage her image; this, after her participation in the Siempre Reinas series.

In the Netflix production, she shared credits with Laura Zapata, Sylvia Pasquel and Lorena Herrera, and although a second season has already been announced, she will not return due to conflicts with some of them.

“I did file a restraining order because you cannot allow violence,” said Lucía from Miami, where she was recognized with the Keys to the City.

“I think it’s very different to have freedom of expression than to be insulted, or that it’s practically gender violence or workplace violence or media violence. You can’t allow violence to anyone.”

The Colorina star pointed out that if at a certain moment someone does not like the song of an interpreter, his image or the artist himself, that does not give him the right to do violence.

“Nor to insult you because of your physique or, worse still, defame you,” he added. “That I have been touched by defamations and lies, obviously.”

She clarified that it was not she who placed the restraining order, but a judge, after analyzing the evidence presented by her lawyers in the face of attacks by former colleagues.

“He considered that it was a lot of violence,” he added.

The artist, 68 years old and with new plans in music, assured that Siempre Reinas was a success.

“People keep seeing it, they keep singing the song, what happened is really something wonderful, but, unfortunately, when people don’t measure their words or the things they comment on, that’s when they really hurt the projects. What happens in the reality stays in reality, but outside of reality you don’t have to put up with any violence.

“You can’t be after so much violence, so much lies and so much defamation. That’s not reality. It was already a personal matter and I, honestly, have no need.”

Miami honors her

Lucía Méndez was happy for the recognition she was given in Miami in front of her star, on the famous Calle 8.

“I really appreciate it because Miami is like my second homeland and they behaved very nicely. They have given me keys to cities, but I don’t have that many either, but this is special, it’s Miami, I lived here for many years, and now I’ll be coming more often over here”.

He assumes that he has to live many things for fame, even criticism for the use of filters in his photographs.

“Oh, nothing, I love the filters, everyone loves the filters and I’m not interested. And believe me that when I pay attention to filing a lawsuit it is because it is already something very strong,” he said.
