Luffy's phrase in the last episode of the One Piece anime that makes sense of one of the most prominent theories of the series

Warning: One Piece anime chapter 1072 spoilers

Several days have passed since the episode, but we still have a hangover from the legendary chapter 1072 from the One Piece anime. Luffy’s ultimate transformation has left everyone stunned, with spectacular Gear 5 and overwhelming animation. However, very few have noticed a most peculiar detail that gives meaning to one of the most famous theories of the entire work.

Several months ago, we told you how the youtuber Spanish Artur – Library of Ohara explained what was the supposed treasure that was called One Piece: The Bink’s Sakea drink that has become a symbol within the work to unify the world and create the biggest party of all.

Well, going back to chapter 1072, when Luffy begins to lose strength to Kaido, just before transforming back into joy boyrecites a verse from Binks’ Sake: “When you die, all that’s left are bones”. This phrase, although it does not translate as is in Spanish, is part of the end of the song that Brook sang for the first time in Thriller Bark.

Once he utters this verse, Luffy becomes joy boy to continue fighting against Kaido, thus making sense that the treasure left by the person with the same title and who has now inherited the Straw Hat is the celebration sake. It must be emphasized that this is a theory made by a fan, so we cannot ensure that this is the treasure that Gol D. Roger found in Raftel. Still, it’s exciting to see how the pieces fit together and we can gradually discover the best kept secret in the history of anime.
