louis slimming became the most tuned number in the Huaso de Olmue Festival, Chilean music festival that has humorous presentations. With a routine full of everyday, political and family themes, the young man who had been an actor in the well-known Chilean series “Los 80’s” enchanted the public.
The comedian also known as “Don Comedia” achieved 16.8 tuning points, with peaks of 18.4 units, a high number in Chilean audiences, leaving all other national channels behind. Said numbers were achieved between 00:00 and 00.47 am.
Who is Luis Slimming and how did his career in humor come about?
During a Humor Clinic, at the Diego Portales University, the director of the Institute of Humorous Studies Rafael Gumucio spoke to Luis Slimming, in 2020.
At that time, Gumucio introduced him as the “master behind humor” and invited him to speak “on the invisible secrets that are contained in the scripts of great comedians.” This, since Sliming is a humor writer and mathematician. In fact, he studied Mathematics at the Catholic University, to be a teacher, a job that he only did for 6 months.
A path to humor
In this same interview from 2020, the young man who triumphed in Olmué a few days ago recounts that his path to humor began at the university, where colleagues told him that he “had talent.” That’s when he decided to go test at the request of “open microphone.”
After being “discovered” by a producer of a television channel, he participated in the program “Colosseum Romano” and after two weeks he was eliminated. However, it was precisely at that moment that he began his career behind the scenes.
After being eliminated, he was offered to stay on as a “comedy writer” for other competitors. That started a path where he has performed in that role for well-known Chilean comedians such as Stefan Kramer, Edo Caroe, Fabrizio Copano, among others.
Succeeding in the digital world
Precisely Fabrizio Copano created together with the Arica Marcelo Valverdethe podcast “The sense of humor”, a space for analysis and reflection on comedy and its exponents. A space to which Luis Slimming would arrive. He arrived as Copano’s replacement, after he left for the United States.
A couple of weeks later another librettist joined, Hector Romero, completing a trio of humor that has made them succeed on digital platforms. Together they have passed through two digital radio stations: “Niu Radio” and “Big Radio”.
They have also been present on platforms such as Spotify Y Youtube, in addition to Patreon, where they host exclusive content for their fans: they pay for the content. This work has led them to promote other spaces where they participate as “Gnobs” conducted by Hector Romero, “The Little Fights”headed by Marcelo Valverde, “The Precise Club” Y “Between Joke and Joke”, the latter one of the most viral programs on social networks in which Luis Slimming interviews prominent comedians or people linked to humor.
Brunito has grown
