The State gave up this Thursday, April 27 to ban demonstrations against the arrival of Emmanuel Macron in the Doubs, where the President of the Republic must celebrate, during the day, the abolition of slavery.

Where does the movement of pans come from?

The prefect of Doubs Jean-François Colombet had issued a decree on Tuesday prohibiting demonstrations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Thursday in the town of La-Cluse-et-Mijoux, where the head of state is expected in the middle of the day. The decree mentioned in particular “the significance of the terrorist threat on national territory”.

This decree had been the subject of three appeals for interim release before the administrative court of Besançon, which was to examine it this Thursday morning in public hearing.

But the prefect finally decided to withdraw his decree, announced the court in an email sent to AFP. “The withdrawal being retroactive, the decree of April 25 is considered as never having existed (…) the applicants having won their case”says the email.

As with each trip by the President of the Republic and his ministers since the promulgation of his highly contested pension reform, a demonstration is planned near the Château de Joux, where Emmanuel Macron is going, even if access to the castle, which overlooks the region in the Jura massif, should be barred to protesters.

The Republic bogged down: how can Macron govern now?

The CGT du Doubs has already announced that the inter-union of Pontarlier would give “a concert of saucepans at the foot of the Château de Joux”. “Plan something to make noise to make people hear that 64 is still no!” »the union said in an appeal to its members and supporters.

On Tuesday, the Orleans administrative court had suspended a similar decree from the prefect of Loir-et-Cher prohibiting any demonstration during the visit of Emmanuel Macron to Vendôme, even though the visit of the Head of State was in progress.
