Made in America music festival canceled in Philadelphia

The Made in America festival, which is traditionally held in Philadelphia over the Labor Day holiday weekend, was canceled citing “severe circumstances beyond the control of the production.”

This is how the organizers let it know on their official Instagram account on Tuesday afternoon.

The event, produced by rapper Jay Z, would be festooned with popular singer Lizzo, who is facing harassment claims by two of her former dancers.

“The Made in America 2023 festival (which was scheduled for September 2 and 3) will not take place,” read the letter under a totally dark background. “This was a difficult decision that we took for granted and after the necessary deliberation.”

In the information they declare that the activity is “a legacy” for music lovers and all those who enjoy concerts, so “it is our commitment to present a festival of height.”

They ended the communication with “we are hopeful to see you at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia in 2024.”

Anyone who has already purchased tickets will be able to request a refund where they were purchased, either online or through the app.
