The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), Óscar Guardado and Vice Minister Óscar Domínguez, announced the execution of an unprecedented plan to support Salvadoran ranchers, through a comprehensive strategy for marketing, herd genetic improvement, cattle nutrition care, access to credit, specialized technical advice and other actions included in the plan.

We have built, with the Vice Minister, a master rescue plan for the livestock sector. We are going to take the dairy sector to the levels that our population deserves, with technical assistance, accompaniment and the opportune resource”, affirmed Minister Guardado.

For his part, Vice-Minister Domínguez stated that, in less time, they expect the entry of work from seven dairy plants nationwide, where fluid milk, quesillo, gourmet cheeses and other derivatives will be produced. They are highly technical, capable of processing more than 150,000 liters of milk nationwide.

“We as producers have been in abandonment, but with the impulse that the Minister and the Vice Minister have now given, we feel satisfied. We are really seeing results, in a week.” said Rodolfo Aquino, president of the El Nilo 1 Cooperative.

A breather for each one of us; This plant is going to be productive. I send a greeting to the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, for having this staff now, he is responding to us “pointed out Alonso Márquez, representative of the El Nilo 2 Cooperative.

The dairy plants will have technical assistance and all the necessary support from the MAG and other government institutions that are required. “A marketing strategy is coming, where the direct purchase of fluid milk and all dairy products will be guaranteed; we are going to benefit more than 25,000 producers”, concluded Vice Minister Óscar Domínguez.
