Mainz head coach Bo Svensson has curbed expectations of winter newcomers Andreas Hanche-Olsen (26) and Ludovic Ajorque (28). As the Dane revealed at today’s press conference, one shouldn’t ask too much of the two. “Ludovic arrived here and within a few days he should function directly in a new team – it’s not that easy. It’s similar for Andreas, he came out of an injury earlier. But we can already see that they can help us”explains the trainer.

Center forward Ajorque has been in the starting line-up for the past three competitive games, but the Frenchman has not yet managed to contribute to a goal. Hanche-Olsen has even completed four full-distance games since moving to the Rheinhessen. In the DFB Cup game against FC Bayern (0:4), the Norwegian seemed a bit unsure. Meanwhile, Svensson had bad news about Ajorque’s fellow striker Jonathan Burkhardt (22): “Things are not going as well as we had hoped for Jonny. He will not be available to us for the next few weeks either.”
