Man Arrested in Connection to New Bedford Murder

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for his role in the murder of a 20-year-old man and will be arraigned Wednesday in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Police arrested Sterling Robinson in Fall River on Tuesday and charged him with accessory to murder after the fact, according to WJAR.

New Bedford police say they received a call shortly after midnight Monday morning about a possible shooting in the area of ​​Tallman and North Front streets.

Neighbors say they heard loud banging that sounded like gunshots.

Police later found the victim, Lorenzo Gomes, inside his car, and the injured man is believed to have been trying to drive to the hospital.

Gomes was eventually taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Bristol County District Attorney’s office says this is still a very active investigation and has not shared any further information.
