The police are on the scene after a man opened fire at a restaurant in Nydalen in Oslo. No people are injured.
The police say it currently appears to be a targeted incident. At the same time, there is no information to suggest that there will be a danger to other people in the area.
– To us, this does not appear to be a completely random shooting, even though we know nothing about the background for it, says the incident leader at the scene, Tore Barstad.
At 23.30 he informs VG that the police have coded the case as attempted murder.

It was an employee at the restaurant who reported the incident to the police.
– At 21.39, the police receive a report from a stressed reporter, naturally enough, that a shot has been fired at a fast food restaurant. Someone has been in there and fired a shot, says Barstad.
Barstad says it currently appears that the man fired shots, and then ran in the direction of Akerselva.
Barstad tells TV 2 that it is far too early to speculate on the motive. The police have all hypotheses open.
– We have relatively large police resources out now, in what we believe to be the escape route.
Besides dog patrol and a bunch of police cars, crime technicians are also on their way to the scene.
Have video of the weapon
The police must find all videos from the area that can help them on the road. will look for video material in the area.
– We also have a monitoring service at PST nearby, which we hope can help us. We have good hope of being able to document more than we can as of now.
Barstad cannot say whether the incident is related to other shooting incidents in Oslo.
CRIME TECHNICIANS: Crime scene technicians work on site.
– We cannot have shootings in the city of Oslo in any way. Here, someone has been exposed to life-threatening danger and we will make sure to clarify that, says Barstad.
– Do you have information about the type of weapon that was used?
– Yes, we have that and we also have video that shows it. What I can say as of now is that it is a one handed weapon. We have video that shows it.

The police are now working on a tactical and technical investigation at the scene, and the crime scene has been cordoned off.
– Then we question the victim and any witnesses we may find in the area.

The police believe the perpetrator is wearing something red on his left arm. There is writing on the jacket which is white and red.
– We are of course interested in getting in touch with people who have seen someone with this description before or afterwards.
– Are you looking for a named person?
– No, we are not doing that at the present time.
