The Kenyan favorite finished the race in a disappointing 6th place, more than three minutes behind his compatriot, victorious for the second consecutive year. Frenchman Hassan Chahdi climbed to 8th place, Hellen Obiri won the women’s race.

A Kenyan victory was expected in Boston, that of world record holder Eliud Kipchoge. It finally came from his compatriot Evans Chebet, who emerged victorious from the American course for the second consecutive year after 2h05’54” of racing, well ahead of Eliud Kipchoge, relegated to 6th place (+3’29”).

For his first participation in Boston, the double Olympic champion in the discipline (2016, 2021), was dropped at the 30th kilometer after an acceleration from the Tanzanian Gabriel Geay, 2nd in the end (+0”10). The Kenyan Conseslus Kipruto, beaten in the final sprint, completes the podium (+0”12).

On the French side, Hassan Chahdi achieved the nice surprise of the afternoon by climbing to 8th position in 2h09’46”, not far from his personal best (2h08’11).
