The organizations nucleated in Picket Unit (UP) The main accesses to the City of Buenos Aires will be closed from 9 this Tuesdayand other neuralgic points in different parts of the country, within the framework of the “national picket“, in rejection of the suspension of almost 160,000 beneficiaries of the Potenciar Trabajo program.
The main interruptions to traffic from the province of Buenos Aires to the Federal Capital will occur in Pueyrredón Bridge, La Noria Bridge, West Access, Pan-American Highway and La Plata-Buenos Aires Highwaythe organizers reported.
The protest is in demand for the “Almost 160,000 casualties from the Empower Work plan” and the request that the registration for the renewal of the benefits “can be completed in person because there are families that do not have connectivity” to the Internet, the referent of the Polo Obrero, Eduardo Belliboni, told Télam.
“There are no surprises, no cuts or casualties”, affirmed from the Ministry of Social Development. “Yes, there was a long data revalidation process so that we can correctly manage the program assignment. The holders who validated their identity in Mi Argentina and meet the program requirements were not suspended,” explained spokespersons for the portfolio led by Victoria Tolosa Peace.
And in this sense, they pointed out: “To the 154,441 holders who have not yet carried out the validation, 50% of the amount corresponding to the month of January will be paid. However, they still have the instance ‘validation after the deadline’ that will be evaluated by the Secretary of Social Economy and As of today, 20,157 people have already made the claim”.
However, Belliboni ratified the protests and assured that the sector he refers to “did not get answers” from the Ministry of Social Development about the casualties due to the lack of registration in the Mi Argentina application, as requested by the national government.
In a statement it was explained that there will be “access cuts, routes and bridges in more than 130 points in the 24 provinces”.
Belliboni urged that the Ministry of Social Development carry out a “review of the registration procedure”, since, he insisted, there are families that receive the plan that “do not have the resources or connectivity” to meet this requirement.
